  • Grow Pods meet this week. 
  • Joint Good Friday Service, March 25th - Join us and several other churches as we gather to remember the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus. We will be meeting at Oakridge Baptist Church (by West 47th and Cambie St). Service time is at 10:30am
  • Volunteer Opportunities - ESL Teachers & Kids Church Teachers. If you are interested in working with people these ministries could use your help! ESL classes will start in March and meet every Weds/Fri from 10am - 11:30am. Kids Church meets during the worship service and has a rotation of teachers. If you are interested in knowing more, contact our office today!
  • Create Group would like to invite you to our first event! Spend time quietly contemplating and creatively responding to the story of Jesus' journey to the cross through drawing, writing etc... We will be meeting at Melody's home in New Westminster and each room of the house will have a different scripture reference to consider and materials to write or draw your response. You may come and leave at any time within the two hours. This isn't about creating "great art" but about expressing your heart and meeting with Jesus. This is mostly meant to be a reflective time on your own. We will spend some time near the end of the event inviting people to share their art and reflections. All ages are welcome!

  • Easter Sunday - Sunrise Service - at 7:30am at Lacarno Beach - (bottom of Trimble St). Following the service there will be a breakfast at the church at 8:30am. Our service will follow afterwards at 10am. Please rsvp to the office if you are planning to attend the breakfast.
  • Everyone is invited to the next LEAD Seminar that will happen on Saturday, April 9th. The topic for this seminar will be Leading for those outside the church" and will be located at the home of Don and Ako. More info to come, please RSVP to the office if you plan to attend.

  • Create has a new meeting night - Jan 21st at 7pm at the church. This is a new group where people can connect over creativity and the arts and explore how our faith and creativity work together. Whether it is a story, a song, a painting or an experience, Create is the place where together, we can come share our creative processes, collaborate, serve and glorify our Creator. If you are interested, contact Courteney at courteney@dhbc.ca 
  • On January 24th we will hosting a send-off party for Cheryl Johnson – our Deacon of Children and Youth. She will be moving back to Montreal to begin a role as a youth pastor and to also be closer to her family. Please join us here at the church as we celebrate how God has worked through her ministry here at DHBC and thank her for her service to our young people and pray for her upcoming transitions. 
  • DHBC will be offering a Starting Point Class on Sunday, February 21st. This class will go over the mission and values of our church is a required step for those considering church membership at DHBC. However you can also just come more on what we are about and why we value church membership. Please RSVP your spot with the office. Lunch will be provided.

  • Our Winter Retreat is happening this Friday to Sunday at Camp Stillwood in Chilliwack. We are looking forward to spending a weekend together, having some fun, learning and meeting our speaker, Bill Clem. Sign-in starts at 7pm (It can take about 2 hours to drive from Vacnouver). Click here for a map and a list of things to bring.  Don’t forget to email Courteney your answers to the questions for one of our games. Also, contact the office if you have any questions. 
  • Because we will be away at the retreat – there will be no Sunday Service on Jan 17th. We hope that other arrangements can be made for that day. We will be back ot our regular 10am service the following Sunday. 
  • We are collection items, clothing and furniture to help NEW HOPE MINISTRIES welcome Syrian Refugees over then next months. If you are able to contribute items (toiletry items, snacks, clothes (winter wear) and home furnishings) we are collecting them at the church over the next few weeks. Our furniture collection date will be on Jan 23rd. Please contact the office or Ako MackDonald for more information.

Bring your tools,m your fav recipes and special ingredients that are out of the ordinary. We will have staple like eggs, butter, sugar and flour.   • DHBC Youth - Hear & Do is meeting this Tuesday. We will see you at 4pm in the basement. Come out for some fun and games and dedicated time of studying God's Word.
  • Candlelight Carol Service is happening Dec 20th at 6:30pm. Come for an evening of carols, scripture and quite times to reflect upon this advent season.
  • Christmas Day Service and Dinner - if you are around vancouver this year - join us for our Christmas service at 11am. After the service we will be opening doors to our city and welcoming those who find themselves in need of some company during Christmas. Please RSVP your spot to the dinner as spaces are limited. Also, we are looking for drivers who can pick up people on the way to the service. If you can help with that, contact our office.
  • Get A Clue! Registration is open and you are strongly encouraged to get your forms and payment in as soon as possible. It is going to be such a great weekend filled with mystery and fun!   • DHBC Youth - Hear & Do is meeting Tuesdays at 4pm in the basement. Come out for some fun and games and dedicated time of studying God's Word.
