MOVE IT! MAKE IT!

Join us for a week of creative movement, arts and media! Kids will experience a different form of Art each day: Hip hop, drama, cooking, movie-making, and more!

Date: March 12th – 16th, 2012

Hours: 8:00am– 6:00pm Monday – Friday

Cost: $160/week includes admission to field trips, transit & materials.

Opportunities to serve at DHBC

As we enter in the New Year, you might consider how you can connect yourself serve at DHBC. If that is you, we have many opportunities in our different ministries and would love to have you on board!

Potlucks

Potlucks take place every second Sunday of each month and we always are looking for help cleaning up during the potlucks and after the potlucks. We would ask those who can help to come eat quickly after the services and report to the kitchen to start on cleaning dishes and tidying up the kitchen. Being apart of the clean up team is key to a smooth and successful potluck!

Sunday Refreshments

Every Sunday we aim to have fresh and delicious snacks and drinks to enjoy after the service while you chat with other members. We need help out with set up and/or clean up of the snacks and drnks on Sunday morning.  It is a commitment of helping out about once per month. Please consider serving in this Sunday ministry.

Children and Youth Ministry

Our Sunday children’s programs are growing by the week! We truly appreciate the those who volunteer their Sunday morning away from the service to spiritually invest in the children of DHBC! We have classes separated in different age groups as well as weekly meetings for pre-teens and high school students. Contact Cheryl Johnson for more details at .

 

Dunbar Serving Ministry

Many of us have been blessed by the DSM in the form of hot meals, baby-sitters, moving help and much more. It is a way DHBC connects and serve others when help is needed! We are looking for more DHBCers to serve in one or more areas of service in the DSM. We can always use extra hands on deck when we receive requests various jobs. A person’s first impression of a new church can play a major role in their faith journey. We want to make sure all vistors to DHBC have a memorable experience as soon as they walk through the doors. DHBC Youth Programs :

 

FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE (Grades 5-7)

Fridays from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at DHBC in the basement (enter through the door marked “office”)

Friday Night Live is a safe place where pre-teens can come and be real, have fun, build relationships and grow in Christ. Three Fridays a month we play crazy games, spend time in prayer and worship, and engage in discussions about Christ.  Once a month we hold special social or service events.

the G.A.P. (Grades 8-12)

Go Deeper. Awake Understanding. Pursue Christ

Thursdays from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm @ DHBC in the basement (enter through the door marked “office”)

 

At the GAP, students will take part in prayer, worship, and discussions about sermon content from Sundays and Bible study in a small group format.  Once a month we will do a social or service event in the community.

Starting Point Class: October 16 & 17

Interesting in finding out more about DHBC? Our beliefs? Our values? Our vision?

Attend the next Starting Point Class on both Sunday, October 16th from 1-3pm and Monday, October 17th from 7-9pm, meeting in the senior pastor’s office.  The purpose is to introduce you to DHBC, answer any questions you may have, and prepare you for membership.

We are gearing up for a new season at DHBC!

We are looking forward to a new season starting at DHBC and to new visitors to our church! We welcome all to join us in our September Kick Off and other fellowship events  where you can learn more about DHBC and our community.

Events:

KICK OFF BBQ: Sunday, September 11th, Service at 10:30am, BBQ at 12:00pm

This Sunday will mark the start of a new year at DHBC! Whether you are new to Vancouver or not and want to look for a church to worship at, come and check us out, we would love to see you! You are also invited to attend our BBQ lunch afterwards that will take place in the church parking lot.

CHURCH POTLUCK: Sunday, September 18th, Service at 10:30am, Potluck at 12:00pm

Once a month we hold potluck lunches here at DHBC. These lunches are for everyone and begin after the morning worship service. If you are new, we encourage you to come and meet others over a delicious lunch prepared by members of our church.

NEWCOMERS LUNCH: September 25th at the Andersons

A special lunch for those who are new to DHBC in the past 6 months would like to know more about our church. Leaders from out church will be available to answer questions you may have and also share with you information about our ministries and about membership at DHBC.
